IAAC's IdA Programme: Part 1, January - June 2007
IAAC's programme in the first half of 2007 related to the first phase of its Identity Assurance Roadmap: "Continue and Promote the Policy Debate". Its theme was "UK Government's Role in Assuring Identity". Given the degree to which any national identity infrastructure would be central to UK Government's plans for the future, IAAC's objective was to explore the potential benefits and the complexity of the issues that a UK Assured Identity infrastructure could be expected to introduce.
IAAC held a very successful Private Discussion Meeting (PDM) and two workshops exploring specific aspects of the above theme, as well as contributing to a number of other studies and discussions. A summary of the key messages that emerged from this phase of its work is available here
